Health crisis: Babies' vaccine supply running out

The Department of Health and Children and the Immunisation Office of the Health Service Executive have confirmed to Sinn Féin this week that supplies of the BCG vaccine for babies and young children is seriously low. Families are being turned away from health centres and clinics where supplies have run out. Free article
Nurses vote for strike action

Health Minister Mary Harney has reopened contract talks with 2,100 high-paid hospital consultants but has refused to deal with oustanding issues on wages and conditions for 40,000 front-line nurses, provoking a vote by nurses for strike action. Free article

Dublin City Council has passed a motion calling for a full public enquiry in to the Dublin/Monaghan bombings of May 1974. The motion, tabled by Sinn Féin Councillor Daithí Doolan, was passed at last Monday night's council meeting. Free article
Justice: Diplock courts must not return by back door

Sinn Féin's spokesperson on Policing and Justice, Gerry Kelly, has expressed concerns at the draft legislation relating to justice issues which is currently passing through the British parliament. The party met with British Secretary of State Peter Hain earlier this week following a series of meetings with NIO minister Paul Goggins. Free article
FG/Labour exclude Sinn Féin from policing committee

Sinn Féin is being actively excluded from the Joint Policing Committee in the Dublin local authority of Fingal by a Labour/Fine Gael pact. Sinn Féin Councillor Felix Gallagher says a vital role on the Joint Policing Committee (JPC) has being denied to him by underhand tactics of the two parties on Fingal Council. Free article
Water charges: Non-payment option could lead to further hardship
