Adams calls for plans for Connolly's 90th anniversary

Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams MP on Sunday attended an event to commemorate the 89th anniversary of the death of 1916 Rising leader James Connolly and to mark May Day. Connolly used to live in a house at the corner of the Whiterock and Falls Roads in West Belfast. Free article
May Day march for migrant worker rights

'Rights and entitlements for migrant workers' was the theme of the May Day march in Dublin last Saturday, where about 300 of the Turkish workers currently leading the war against the bonded labour conditions of migrant workers in Ireland, led a demonstration of some 400 people to celebrate May Day. Empty bus lanes slammed

The Government has come under fire once again over its mismanagement of the transport and traffic problems in Dublin City. Sinn Féin Donaghmede Councillor Killian Forde has lashed into the Department of Transport for allowing a multi-million two-kilometre stretch of bus lane on the N32 to lie idle, while car users on the same road sit in traffic gridlock. Clooney base plans welcomed

Derry citizens have welcomed the decision that the former British Army base at Clooney is to be re-developed to create social and economic benefits for the people of the city. However, the speed with which the Department of Social Development (DSD) and the Northwest Development Office secured the site and published a consultation paper on its future is being contrasted with the length of time it is taking to produce any such ideas for the Ebrington and Fort George bases.
