Tragic period of history to be recalled in series of events

SINN FÉIN President Gerry Adams has launched a programme of events to mark the 20th Anniversary of a tragic period in Irish history in March 1988 which witnessed a series of tragic events including the summary execution of IRA Volunteers Mairéad Farrell, Dan McCann and Seán Savage in Gibraltar and the murderous attack on mourners at their funerals. THE SINN FÉIN Ard Fheis will take place in the RDS in Dublin this weekend (Friday 29 February and Saturday 1 March). Two thousand delegates and visitors are expected to attend the Ard Fheis, the main theme of which is 'Unity-Prosperity-Equality'. The other big issue to be debated is the Lisbon Treaty. Free article
