Over 100 republican activists from throughout the Newry/Armagh constituency listened intently as Belfast Assembly member Alex Maskey from Belfast outlined Sinn Féin's analysis of the current political situation last Saturday, 8 September. London hunger strike march

For the first time since the protests which followed Bloody Sunday in 1972, republicans based in England are set to march to Trafalgar Square in the heart of London to mark the 20th anniversary of the 1980/81 Hunger Strike. They will also be commemorating all those who have died on hunger strike in the cause of Irish freedom, including Terence MacSwiney, Frank Stagg and Michael Gaughan, each of whom died in an English prison. Cork councillor barred by Navy

Sinn Féin Ard Comhairle member Martin Ferris has slammed the actions of the 26-County naval authorities in barring two members of Sinn Féin from working at Haulbowline and said he would be raising the issue at governmental level. One of those barred is Cork Corporation Councillor Jonathan O Brien. Free article
