Bloody Sunday report for June?

Speculation is mounting that the Bloody Sunday Inquiry report will be published in June. The relatives of those killed and injured have been engaged in meetings with NIO Secretary Owen Paterson is recent weeks and have been assured of a speedy publication date. Lifford March 'only the beginning'

Thousands of people turned up at a Save Lifford Hospital rally in Donegal on Sunday. Speaking in front of a crowd of 3,500 people Senator Pearse Doherty said a concerted campaign would be needed to keep Lifford Hospital open. Free article

Where's the 'free' education?

A proposal to charge a Û500 annual fee for school transport makes a mockery of the notion of free education in the 26 Counties. So said Senator Pearse Doherty, the Sinn Féin education spokesperson, as the news was announced this week. Doherty described the proposal to introduce a Û500 annual fee for primary school children and increase the current fee for secondary students from Û300 to Û500 annually as an insult added to the injury of overcrowded classrooms and dilapidated schools. Reilly won't contest next general election

Sinn Féin Mayor of Navan and County Councillor Joe Reilly has announced his intention not to seek the party nomination for the Meath West general election constituency.
