In Tyrone a young Donaghmore man was stopped by a large contingent of British soldiers as he drove to Armagh last Friday. The man was stopped just outside Eglish at about 10.30am by a foot patrol with soldiers on either side of the road in adjacent fields. Free article

Sinn Féin Cavan/Monaghan TD Caoimhghín O Caoláin abstained in the vote on the Good Friday document and the proposed constitutional changes in Leinster House on Tuesday 21 April. Hamill family abused in court

At a preliminary hearing into the murder of Portadown Catholic Robert Hamill, Paul Dobson, the only man to remain in custody charged with the killing was further remanded in custody until trial in Belfast crown court later in the year. Free article

The 26 County Minister for Justice, John O'Donoghue, claimed in Leinster House on Tuesday that those facing charges arising out of the shooting dead of Special Branch Detective Jerry McCabe in Adare, County Limerick would not come under the ambit of release programmes following the Good Friday agreement at Stormont.
