The 35th Anniversary of the first Civil Rights march from Coalisland to Dungannon took place on Saturday and was marked appropriately, with another march. This time, the route was reversed to point out that the British government has reversed the dearly won right to vote by cancelling the Assembly elections. Free article

Catholic teenagers hurt in sectarian attack

A North Belfast father has told how his son was one of three teenagers attacked by a gang of unionist paramilitaries carrying baseball bats and golf clubs, as they walked along Alliance Avenue on Saturday afternoon, 23 August. Free article


UUC cannot have veto over process

Another Ulster Unionist Council meeting has been scheduled for September, which is being billed as a 'showdown' between David Trimble's supporters and those of Jeffrey Donaldso et al. On Tuesday, Trimble declared that the meeting would mark a true "defining moment" for the Ulster Unionist Party. Free article

TDs visit Castlerea and call for release of prisoners
