Achill honours emigrant son
The Sinn Féin cumann in Keel, Achill, County Mayo, honoured the president of Friends of Sinn Féin, Larry Downes, during his recent visit to Achill. Downes claims Mayo ancestry through his paternal grbndmother who was from Boholla, County Mayo. Larry was presented by Phil McFadden with a coffee set of Achill pottery and a plaque commemorating the Deserted Village on Achill. Present were chair of the Eneas McNulty cumann, Michael Dan Gallagher, cumann members Patrick Gavin, Eneas McNulty, Pádraig McNamara and honourary cumann members Rita O'Hare and Brendan Brownlee.
