Sligo campaign underway
Sinn Féin in Sligo has announced their candidates for next June's local government elections.
Director of Elections Gerry Casey said the party is extremely confident of securing four seats. ``Sinn Fein believe that the selection of Alderman Sean MacManus to contest the West Ward [Sligo Corporation] and the Sligo/Strandhill council area [Sligo County Council], Arthur Gibbons to contest the North Ward and party Chairperson, Chris MacManus in the East Ward, forms the basis of an efficient and hardworking winning team capable, not only of substantially increasing the Sinn Fein vote, but actually securing all four seats. Sinn Fein councillors will be seeking to make both Sligo Corporation and Sligo County Council more progressive, forward looking and responsive to the needs of the people of Sligo as we approach the next century''.
