Loyalist mob at large

South Belfast SF councillor Sean Hayes has hit out at the RUC's lack of interest in tackling the loyalist mob that gathers at the junction of Donegal Pass and the Ormeau Road almost every Saturday night to attack young people returning home from a night out in the city centre.

He reiterated his call for political, community and church leaders in the Donegall Pass area to bring these sectarian attacks to an end and added that, ``the action or indeed inaction of the RUC on Saturday evening underlines once again the RUC's inability to provide an impartial policing service and the need for their immediate disbandment.''
