Admháil

The Shanahan family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all of those who sympathised with them on the death of their father Volunteer Paddy Shanahan, Dublin. We are ever grateful to the Republican Movement in Dublin for the great honour they gave to our father. We would especially like to thank Seán Crowe TD for his wonderful oration at the graveside. Thanks also to Arnie O'Connell who chaired proceedings and to Eamonn Nolan who presented the Tricolour to us. Our deepest gratitude to those who sent cards and wreaths (especially the Republican POWs in Castlerea.) Thank you to those who personally attended the funeral, especially those who travelled long distances. A special word of thanks to the TDs and councillors who attended. It meant so much at a time of great loss. We are particularly indebted to our brother-in-law Gerry Hanratty for his contribution. Thanks also to the Martin Forsythe/Bob Smith Cumann, to Una Sloan and to those who took time out of their busy schedules to phone and sympathise with us. Sincere thanks to An Phoblact for the obituary. If we have omitted anyone pelase forgive us. Be assured you are all in our hearts. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

The Shanahan Family.
