Dublin calls for implementation of Patten

Dublin City Council unanimously supported Sinn Féin's Christy Burke in calling for the full implementation of the Patten Report. It joins a dozen other local authorities, including South Dublin County Council and Cork Corporation, who have called for the full implementation of Patten. Sinn Féin Councillor Nicky Kehoe said: ``The cross-party support for the full implementation of Patten shows how widespread concern is over policing in the Six Counties. Policing is a fundamental issue affecting every people throughout Ireland. To have a lasting peace settlement it has to be sorted out.'' Free article
