Sinn Féin TD Arthur Morgan has sharply criticised the Minister of State with responsibility for Housing, Noel Ahern TD for misleading the Dáil during Minister's question time last week. Minister of State Ahern was responding to a challenge from Morgan regarding Ahern's refusal to meet him to discuss proposals from Dublin City Council in relation to the sale of Local Authority flats. On 14 October 1921, 83 years ago, Seán Treacy was killed during a gun battle in Dublin. Treacy, from Solohead, County Tipperary, had one of the most distinguished careers of an Irish rebel. He was with Dan Breen at Soloheadbeg, the ambush where the first shots of the Tan War were fired. Free article
