Despite this week's announcements of plans to save money, we will have to wait until December's budget to see exactly how Brian Cowen's government intends to deal with the current huge revenue shortfall. But there is a growing fear that the elderly, disadvantaged and people with disabilities will pay the price for the government's mismanagement of the public finances. Free article
