Clinton move on deportees welcomed
Sinn Féin National Chairperson Mitchel McLaughlin welcomed on Tuesday the announcement by President Clinton that the United States administration will not proceed with deportation proceedings against nine republican former prisoners currently residing in the USA.
McLaughlin said: ``This move by the US administration is a welcome one. It shows again President Clinton's commitment to a process of conflict resolution in which all of the outstanding matters such as the deportees need to be addressed satisfactorily.''
