Media lies refuted
The Republican Movement has utterly refuted media claims that members of the IRA ordered a family in Turf Lodge, West Belfast, to leave their home because their son had joined the RUC.
It had been widely reported in the press that the Lewsley family, formerly of Ardmonagh Gardens, had been visited by two IRA Volunteers on Saturday evening, June 13.
A Republican movement source told An Phoblacht, ``at no time were any members of the Republican Movement involved in or connected with the circumstances surrounding the Lewsley family leaving the area. We are not aware of any threat having existed or having been made towards this family by members of the Republican Movement. We share the view of many of the residents that the incident was completely unexpected and one of surprise.''
