DHSS colluding with Crown Forces

By Sean O'Tuama

Sinn Fein councillor, Michael Browne, has condemned a series of raids by DHSS officials in partnership with the RUC and British Army.

Although these new joint operations have taken place throughout the Six Counties they have been concentrated in the West Belfast and Fermanagh areas.

``The link between the DHSS and the RUC is of particular concern considering the reputation which they (the RUC) have for terrorising whole communities,'' said Browne, ``This activity provides the RUC with further excuses to continue with their campaign of intimidation against the Nationalist community. The DHSS should not allow itself to be used in this way.''

Browne added that there was ``widespread anger'' in the Nationalist community over this issue and that the DHSS must be aware that it was unacceptable for them to be linked to that ``sectarian force.''

Mr Browne is urgently calling for a meeting with DHSS chiefs to explain why they are allowing themselves to be used by the RUC.
