Larne Catholics burned out

The latest sectarian attack in Larne took place on the McCorry home in the Craigyhill estate in the early hours of Saturday morning 21 March.

A firebomb attack left 18 year old Marie McCorry with burns to her leg.

``The McCorry's are just another Catholic family whose lives are lived in the shadow of loyalist bigotry,'' said Sinn Féin's Catherine O'Hagan.

The loyalists smashed the living room window with a paving slab and poured flammable liquid into the room where Marie McCorry was lying on the sofa and set it alight. Although burned, Marie raised the alarm and evacuated the house.

An Phoblacht was told that the attack happened after an altercation between a member of the family and a loyalist who was shouting sectarian abuse at the family.
