RUC threaten man with LVF

A DUNGANNON man who was told by the RUC last month that his name is on an LVF death list, continues to be the victim of constant RUC/RIR harassment.

An Phoblacht reported last month how both the man's house and he himself was photographed at the roadside by members of the Crown Forces.

He was again singled out last Thursday when he was stopped on the Circular Road Dungannon while driving to the wake of Brother Oliver, a Presentation Brother who lived in the town.

The RIR searched the car and sent for the RUC who took his driving license. When he asked for it to be returned they refused saying that the LVF would be interested in it. The RUC has yet to return the driving license.

In a separate incident in Dungannon, the RUC forcibly removed a film from a camera after its owner had taken photographs of the RIR harassing another local man, Frankie Quinn .

The incident occurred on Wednesday 25 February on the Ballygawley Road in the Tyrone town.

After being released, Quinn was stopped just ten minutes later and searched near the home of his mother.

When he protested that he had already been searched, the Crown Forces insisted they ``were going to do it again.''

Complaints have been lodged with the RUC in regard to both incidents.
