Our children, our magic

FOUR DAYS of festive fun and magic are being lined up for youngsters in West Belfast this spring. The Draiocht children's arts festival organised by the West Belfast Feile team will run from 14 March and culminate in a city centre St Patrick's Day parade extravaganza. There are hundreds of workshops catering for children from three year olds and up, with excellent disability facilities on hand but NUMBERS ARE LIMITED, SO PEOPLE ARE ADVISED TO BOOK EARLY.

The events are all over West Belfast and Feile an Phobail is asking every youth club, residents' group, womens' group, community organisation and children's centre to get involved. The programme of events range from photography workshops with top Irish photographers to Gaelic sports with national coaches and managers.

Féile director Caitriona Ruane has dedicated the festival to Ciara and Aoife Enright and their father Terry jnr, shot dead by loyalists on 11 January this year, ``who will live forever in the hearts of our youth.'' The Draiocht team hope the festival will be a step towards allowing our children to dream. ``Siúl go cúramach nó is ar ár mbrionglóidí a mbíonn tú ag siúl - Tread carefully for you tread on our dreams.''
