THE annual commemoration in Gortaglanna, near Listowel, in north Kerry, produced a considerable turn-out of over 200 people on Sunday evening last.
The three IRA Volunteers commemorated - Paddy Dalton, Jerry Lyons and Paddy Walsh - were murdered by the Black and Tans on May 12th  1921 as they returned home from a Morning Mission Mass.
North Kerry/West Limerick TD Martin Ferris was the main speaker at the event.
Highlighting the Proclamation of 1916 in his speech, he said that successive governments have merely paid lip service to the provisions made in this fundamental document.
“The Proclamation promises to cherish all children of the nation equally but our natural resources have not been exploited for the benefit of all Irish people equally.”

ELECTIONS
He also spoke of the recent Six-County election results, particularly the re-election of MP Michelle Gildernew.
“The republican community in Fermanagh and South Tyrone demonstrated that they could not be crushed by a pact which included all shades of unionism; similarly, the corrupt political system in the 26 Counties must also be broken.”
North Kerry Sinn Féin would like to thank all those who attended and took part in this hugely successful event.
