Clonmult Commemoration

Eddie Collins lays a wreath at the republican plot in memory of Clonmult martyrs

The 89th annual Cork Clonmult Commemoration took place last Sunday 21 February. The proceedings mark what turned out to be biggest single greatest loss to the Cork IRA, when 12 men were shot dead and a further 2 were later executed by crown forces. Two newly elected Sinn Féin councillors, Tommy Gould (Cork City Council) and Pat Buckley (Midleton Town Council) read out tributes of remembrance to the fallen freedom fighters.
