New Sinn Féin website

AFTER many months of development, Sinn Féin unveiled its new party website, www.sinnfein.ie, on Wednesday. The site has been completely redesigned with a simple, modern and stylish look. The site focuses on interacting with people through the use of blogs, videos, social networks and an email list where people will get regular updates from the party.
In a first for an Irish political party, Sinn Féin allowed their social network “friends” to test drive the new site before it went live and asked them to send in comments and feedback. A number of the comments were then incorporated into the site.
Sinn Féin has fully embraced using social network sites to connect with people in Ireland and around the world. Its YouTube site in particular has more views than any other Irish Political Party. The party also has sites on Facebook, Bebo, MySpace, Twiiter and Flickr which are linked from the new site.
Also new on the site, readers can now leave comments on articles and also access a library of historic documents relating to the evolution of the peace process.
The site is designed to be fully bi-lingual and is able to be navigated as Gaeilge. More and more articles will be added as Gaeilge in the weeks ahead as this is an ongoing project for the party.
The website is part of a commitment by Sinn Féin to use new technologies to reach out to people who otherwise might not have access to information on Sinn Féin .
The site will continue to evolve with new features and tools being added regularly.
Sinn Féin encourages people to use the site and to give their feedback on what they like and what they would like to see improved. Comments can be sent to [email protected].
