Assembly team on course for Irish

AS PART of Sinn Féin’s policy to promote and increase the use of Irish across all levels of the party, its Assembly group has undertaken a week-long intensive course in the wilds of south Donegal at the Oideas Gael Centre.
The centre provides classes for all levels of language learning, from the really basic to competence and fluency. The classes last from 10am to 5pm with breaks for coffee and lunch. Social functions are also organised to give people an opportunity to use and practice the language in a less formal setting outside the classroom.
There were people present from all arts and parts who regularly make the journey to this still isolated corner of Donegal to take in the walks and the spectacular scenery while improving their Irish.
The Assembly team were so enthused that they have committed to attend the three-week course at Halloween, some even threatening to drag their friends and co-workers along!
