Protest as Harney opens new hospital ward

SINN FÉIN held a picket at Crumlin Children’s Hospital on Monday morning as Health Minister Mary Harney arrived to open a new ward.
Explaining the reason for the protest, Dublin South Central TD Aengus Ó Snodaigh said that Sinn Féin is campaigning to save Crumlin Children’s Hospital and lobbying against the Health Services Executive (HSE) recruitment ban which is having “a devastating effect on hospitals and patient care throughout the state”. The local TD said:
“We find it highly hypocritical that Minister Harney would come to Crumlin to open a ward in a hospital whose very existence has been put at risk by her policies.”
