UDA threats led to mother's suicide.

A woman forced out of her Carryduff home by the UDA committed suicide, a Belfast inquest heard last week. Sandra Carlisle (46), who died from a drug overdose last July, had been threatened and had her home firebombed by the UDA because she was friendly with a Catholic neighbour.

Consultant psychiatrist, Dr John Egan told the inquest that there was a ``cause-effect'' link between her death and her forced eviction from Carryduff on the outskirts of South Belfast.

Egan said Carlisle suffered a stress reaction to the intimidation and was liable to panic if she was out of the house for long. he said if she had not been forced from her home, ``things might not have been as bad''.
