Gallagher selected for Dublin West

Felix Gallagher has been selected as the Sinn Féin candidate to contest the next general election for the constituency of Dublin West. Gallagher won an uncontested selection convention in Myo's pub in Castleknock village last week. Gallagher is currently a councillor in Fingal County Council. Accepting the nomination, he said: "Dublin West is one of the fastest growing areas in the state. It has a young, vibrant population, yet because of years of bad planning and misrepresentation, the quality of life for many of the constituents is relatively poor." He criticised the health, housing, education and traffic problems in the area.
