Edinburgh march reflects growing confidence

Following the successful rally to commemorate the 24th Anniversary of the 1981 H-Block Hunger Strike in Glasgow on Saturday 7 May, when up to 3,000 republicans marched through the city, organisers of the Annual James Connolly commemoration in Edinburgh have called on republicans throughout Scotland to attend.

Jim Slaven, spokesperson for Cairde na hÉireann, told An Phoblacht that "the Connolly commemoration and the success of the Hunger Strike rally will reflect the growing republicanism throughout Scotland and will show the sectarian bigots within the police, Special Branch and MI5 that republicans in Scotland will never be silenced".

The Annual James Connolly commemoration will be held on Saturday 4 June, assembling at 1pm at King's Stables Road, Edinburgh. For further details contact
