IRA leadership rejects Northern Bank accusations
In a statement issued on Tuesday night, the leadership of Óglaigh na hÉireann made it absolutely clear that the army was not involved in the £26.5 million 20 December robbery of the Northern Bank in Belfast.
The brief statement reads:
"The IRA has been accused of involvement in the recent Northern Bank robbery.
We were not involved."
