Derry PSNI "too busy" to probe gun threat

Sinn Féin in Derry has criticised the PSNI after an incident in the city when loyalists pointed a gun at two Catholic youths.

When contacted, the PSNI told the youths they were "too busy" to investigate the incident, which occurred as four nationalist youths returning home were confronted by up to seven loyalists armed with bottles at Wapping Lane, leading to the Fountain Estate on Sunday night 7 November.

One of the youths was struck on the head with a bottle and one of the loyalists pulled a gun from his pocket and pointed it at two of the others. Derry Sinn Féin MLA Raymond McCartney said the attitude of the PSNI is nothing new.
