Milnes lobby Ombudsman over PSNI failures
The family of West Belfast man Kieran Milnes, convicted for assaulting a youth who tried to steal his car, have handed a letter of protest into the Police Ombudsman's office. Colleen and Jackie Milnes, accompanied by Sinn Féin MLA Michael Ferguson, went to Nuala O'Loan's office on Thursday 4 November. According to the Milnes family, the PSNI failed to carry out a forensic examination at the scene.
Meanwhile, a rally called by the pressure group, Families Bereaved Through Car Crime, (FBTCC) attracted over 100 people on Wednesday 3 November, despite the inclement weather. The candlelit vigil took place at the Poleglass roundabout, the site of a Remembrance Rock erected in memory of people killed by death drivers over the years.
