Vigil for Basque independence

Donegal Sinn Féin members joined a youth delegation from the Basque Country for a vigil in Letterkenny last Friday. The delegation is touring Ireland to speak about the repression endured by their country at the hands of the Spanish state. Sinn Féin Cllr Gerry McMonagle, who joined the vigil, said Irish people shared a strong solidarity with the Basque people and he called on the Spanish Government to enter into peace negotiations
