Man assaulted for second time
A 30-year-old Catholic man from the Short Strand was the victim of two sectarian attacks in the space of a week.
Robert McDonnell from Bryson Court was first attacked on September 27 as he walked along the Ormeau Road at around 11pm.
On Thursday 2 October he was attacked for the second time as he walked down Franklin Street in Belfast City centre.
"Three men came along and started shouting about me wearing a Celtic top," he said. "They called me a Fenian and started to beat me."
McDonnell said the next thing he remembers is waking up in the City Hospital.
"I am in agony," he said. "I have a broken nose, jaw and cheekbone and bruising all over my body. I am afraid to go outside."
