Man says RUC/PSNI aimed to kill him
Tommy Bunting was struck by an RUC/PSNI Land Rover on the Crumlin Road in North Belfast last Wednesday, 10 January.
Bunting is accusing the RUC/PSNI of attempted murder after the vehicle was driven right at him. "I was flagging the Land Rover down because there was trouble and gangs of loyalists were coming out onto the Crumlin Road from Twaddell Avenue, but the driver drove straight at me. I was thrown into the air and remember nothing until I woke up in intensive care two days later," Bunting told An Phoblacht.
The Ardoyne man suffered bruising and received cuts, including some to his head and mouth and lacerations to his legs and back. Bunting has been in touch with his solicitor with a view to taking a case against the RUC/PSNI.
