RUC man killed by INLA

The INLA claimed responsibility for the shooting of RUC member Darren Bradshaw in The Parliament Bar in Belfast's Docks area on Friday 9 May.

In the attack, described by the RUC as a ``well-thought-out and planned operation,'' two men entered the bar, singled out their target and shot him four times. The pair left after the incident and made their escape.

Bradshaw was the first member of the Crown Forces killed by the INLA in four years and the first member of the RUC to be killed since the IRA cessation of 1994. The getaway car was later found burnt out off the Falls Road.
