Derry republicans hold weekend of commemorative events
Despite the bad weather a large crowd turned out last Saturday afternoon for the rescheduled tour of republican plaques erected in memory of the Volunteers of Óglaigh na hÉireann who died on active service in the Creggan area.
The tour was given by former comrades of the fallen Volunteers; and also took in the republican graves in the City Cemetery. Following the tour a discussion took place on ‘Youth In Struggle’ and included speakers from Sinn Féin, Ógra Shinn Féin and Toirsire Republican Youth group.
The organisers would like to thank all those who helped out at a number of events which took place over the weekend.
