Successful fundraiser for Cullyhanna Band

Large crowds gathered in Mullach Bán on Saturday, 25 August for the fifth annual half marathon and fun-run.
Among them was Thérese Caraher who was there to take part in the half marathon in order to raise much needed funds for St. Patrick’s Youth Band, Cullyhanna.
The band has been in existence since 1974, and has travelled the length and breadth of Ireland, hail, rain or shine, during the past 33 years.
It takes a lot of money to keep the band going throughout the year, with travel expenses and the cost of procuring uniforms, etc, so Thérese decided to walk the thirteen miles to raise the funds.
To help her with the fundraising, many of the band members have been going around the houses in the area, with a sponsorship form and people are being asked to donate some money to help her in her quest.
Along the way, Thérese was supported by members of the band who also welcomed her to the finishing line, outside the Community Centre, in Mullach Bán.
The committee and members of the St. Patrick’s Youth Band, Cullyhanna would like to extend their congratulations and appreciation to Thérese on her achievement and for her efforts in raising money for the Band. Go raibh míle maith agat.
