Relatives call on Saville to deliver

Speaking at the Bloody Sunday Memorial service at Rossville Street on Sunday morning John Kelly, whose 17-year-old brother Michael was killed on 30 January 1972, called on Lord Saville to deliver truth and justice, "for the relatives, the injured, the people of Derry and the world".

British Law Lord, Saville, is expected to deliver his report into the events of Bloody Sunday some time this year.

In anticipation Kelly, on behalf of the families of the Bloody Sunday dead and injured, stated that after his seven year inquiry, "he has only one path to travel and that is one of sincerity in his quest for the truth. We believe Saville has that truth before him and we expect him to deliver it.

"Finally we say to Lord Saville that he must have the courage to show the world that he is not another Widgery. He must face up to the responsibility that was bestowed upon him to uncover the lies and lay bare the cover up by the British Army and their government departments since 30 January 1972.

"We wait in anticipation and hope that the truth be acknowledged by Tony Blair and his government and that our loved ones can rest in peace."
