Ógra Shinn Féin speak at Young Republican Left of Catalonia congress

SIX Ógra Shinn Féin activists will travel to Catalonia this weekend to attend the National Congress of Young Republican Left of Catalonia (JERC), the youth wing of the political party Republican Left of Catalonia.

Earlier this year, young activists from JERC (Joventuts d'Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya) attended the Ógra Shinn Féin National Congress in Derry and the two youth movements have had a working relationship for almost ten years.

This weekend’s JERC congress is being held in the town of Terrassa, close to Barcelona.

JERC activists will be discussing and developing policies on issues such as Catalan independence, jobs and economic development, youth and students issues, drugs and sexual awareness.

JERC are supportive and take inspiration from the Sinn Féin strategy and we continue to support the right of nations such as Catalonia to self-determination.
