Cá bhfuil ár teanga?

A Chairde,

Ba mhaith linn ár míshástacht maidir le dialann úr 2001 atá tagtha amach ar na mallaibh a chur in iúl duit.

In the fairly comprehensive list of media organisations, the An Phoblacht dialann fails to mention any Irish language print or broadcasting groups.

How any list could exclude nationally recognised media organisations such as TG4, Raidió na Gaeltachta, Lá or Foinse is totally beyond our grasp. We hope these exclusions do not reflect a narrowing of An Phoblacht's view on what is important in Ireland today.

Osclaigí bhur súile agus seachain meon na Páile.

Meon na Páile? Tá sé sin ana crua ar fad. This was an error of omission rather than mindset but we are very embarrassed nonetheless. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and will rectify the matter in next year's diary.

Any old pamphlets?

A Chairde,

I am appealing to An Phoblacht readers for their help with some research work. I am trying to track down any REPSOL pamphlets from the 1960s or 1970s.

Good care will be taken of any copies supplied and all will be returned once copied.

The hard truth about fluoride

A Chairde,

I am happy that your paper sees fit to write the hard truth about fluoridation. The pure water committee of Western Maryland, USA, has been fighting against fluoridation for the last 50 years. We have been successful to this point, but the last election favored the profluoridation forces, because of their outright lies. They call fluoride a nutrient, which it is not, and call sodium fluoride food grade, which the EPA has listed only as an insectide and rodenticide.

The FDA has never approved the fluoride supplements that our children receive. This practice is like giving your child a little rat poison every day. The States now has at least 66% of its children with one tooth showing visable signs of chronic fluoride poisoning or dental fluorsis (white patches or streaks on the tooth enamel). Recently, a US Congressional investigation revealed that the EPA has never done the chronic toxicology studies on the waste products hydrofluosilic acid or sodium silicofluorides, which is in 90% of the artifical fluoridated drinking water in the US. These arensic-laced products are linked to bladder and prostate cancer.

Furthermore, the 1,800 EPA scentists of the EPA union oppose fluoridation and have the Varner studies to show that the water clarifier alum (aluminium sulphate) and fluoride are directly linked to presenile dementia and primary brain tumours. The July 2000 issue of the ADA's cover story has Dr. Featherstone, who is the leading preventative dental reseacher in the US. The message from the article is that the action of fluoride is topical and is not benefical or cost effective if ingested through drinking water. Fluoridated drinking water is good only as a mouthwash.

In conclusion, fluoridation is harmful to humans, plants, and animals. Fluoride is more toxic then lead and is slightly less toxic then arsenic. Two to three grammes of pure fluoride is fatal. This broad range enyme poison has never been tested for its safety or effectiveness.

The ADA now knows that Calium Phosphate is seven times more effective than fluoride, and actually remineralises tooth enamel at the first signs of a cavity. Fluoridation is an outright fraud and should be stopped world wide.
