Sinn Féin confident in Dublin South Central

Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams was in Dublin South Central on Thursday night, 30 November, as the party launched its election campaign to regain the seat once held by Countess Markievicz.

At the launch in the Parochial Hall, James's Street, Dublin, Adams said that Sinn Féin now has the potential to get a number of TDs elected at the next general election and that Dublin South Central is one of those areas in which an historic breakthrough was possible.

Addressing the gathering of over 150 supporters from the constituency, candidate Aengus Ó Snodaigh said that ``recent scandals have shown establishment politicians and their parties for ehat they ar and have been, corrupt gombeen men and women. This again opens the doors for Sinn Féin to stand proud of our record as genuine, radical, determined political activists who've stood by our communities through thick and thin.''
