Cowen crisis > Public need a change of direction as well as a change of leader

Ahern and Cowen: Leading everyone the wrong way

THE Chairperson of Dublin Sinn Féin, Dublin West Dáil candidate Paul Donnelly, has questioned what change a new leader will mean for Fianna Fáil “if it keeps the same failed policies”.

He said that Fianna Fáil and taxpayers need a change of direction as well as a change of leader:

It's the entire Government's credibility in question, not just Brian Cowen's.

What are Fianna Fáil candidates offering voters? More of the same under Brian Cowen? Or more of the same under another of Cowen’s ministers? Do Fianna Fáil candidates know?”

This election offers Fianna Fáil supporters disillusioned by the Bertie Ahern and Brian Cowen leaderships under the spell of the bankers and property speculators the chance for a new start.

The policies pursued by Bertie Ahern and Brian Cowen have only served the bankers and speculators well, not the taxpayer.

What will a change of leader do if Fianna Fáil does not make a radical change in direction?

Paul Donnelly said that Sinn Féin offers people who believe in the republican ideal and a fair society an alternative to “the crony capitalism of Bertie and the two Brians”.

There needs to be a clear-out and root and branch change of the way our economy and society has been run.

People don’t need a change of leader in Fianna Fáil; they need a change from Fianna Fáil.
