Students home for Christmas – Make sure you're registered to vote
STUDENTS at universities in England, Scotland and Wales home in the North for Christmas have been urged to make sure they’re on the electoral register so they can vote against the ConDem Coalition’s cuts and student fees.
Students are being encouraged to ensure they are on the electoral register and to get on to the permanent postal and proxy list for upcoming Assembly and council elections.
Sinn Féin Councillor Patricia Logue said:
Students who are away from home on a three-year course can also apply for a postal or proxy vote for the duration of their studies.
As we face into a winter of savage Tory cuts, it’s important that our students have a voice and have a vote.
