‘Sligo’s Noble Six’ commemoration: Lislahelly, Glencar, Sunday at 12 noon.

NORTH SLIGO Sinn Féin have announced that a wreath-laying ceremony in remembrance of ‘Sligo’s Noble Six’ takes place at Lislahelly, Glencar, on Sunday 26th September at 12 noon.

The main oration will be given by Leitrim Sinn Féin Councillor Michael Colreavy.

Local republicans organising the event would like to encourage everyone to come along.

2010 marks the 88th anniversary of the killing of Brigadier Seamus Devins TD, Divisional Adjutant Brian McNeill, Captain Harry Benson, Lieutenant Paddy Carroll, and Volunteers Tommy Langan and Joe Banks who were gunned down on Benbulben Mountain in September 1922.
