New party structures after successful elections and huge increase in membership

Following our success at the recent General Election, and in light of a huge increase in party membership, it has been decided that we need to restructure the regional setup of the party.

The objective in this endeavour is to make the party fit for purpose, with robust and clear structures, retaining current members, attracting new ones whilst preparing for future campaigns and elections.

The proposal, endorsed by the Ard Chomhairle on July 4th 2020, is to restructure the party nationally into six cúige areas;

1.    The North – Down, Derry, Armagh, Antrim, Tyrone, Fermanagh

2.    The West – Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Galway, Mayo, Roscommon

3.    North Leinster (inc. Cavan Monaghan) – Meath, Westmeath, Longford, Louth, Cavan, Monaghan

4.    South Leinster and Midlands – Wicklow, Wexford, Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois, Offaly, Kildare

5.    Munster – Cork, Kerry, Clare, Tipperary, Waterford, Limerick

6.    Dublin

Tá struchtúir nua sa pháirtí anois i ndiaidh toghcháin rathúil agus borradh mhóir faoin bhallraíocht

I ndiaidh dúinn éirigh go maith san olltoghchán is deireanaí agus i bhfianaise borradh mór faoi bhallraíocht an pháirtí, tá beartaithe athstruchtúrú a dhéanamh ar an struchtúr réigiúnach sa pháirtí.

Is soiléir an sprioc; go mbeidh an páirtí in ann chuig rud, struchtúir soiléir agus láidir, baill reatha a choinneáil chomh maith le baill nua a mhealladh. Thairis seo, ba mhaith linn eagrú d’fheachtaisí amach romhainn agus na toghcháin amach romhainn.

Tá an moladh seo, ar glacadh leis ag an Ard Chomhairle ar 4 Iúil 2020, leis an pháirtí a athstruchtúrú go náisiúnta go 6 ceantar cúige:

  1. The North – Na Sé Chondae – An Dún, Doire, Ard Mhacha, Aontroim, Tír Eoghan, Fear Manach
  2. The West – An tIarthar – Dún na nGall, Sligeach, Liatroim, Gaillimh, Maigh Eo, Ros Comáin
  3. North Leinster – Tuaisceart Laighean – An Mhí, An Iarmhí, An Longfort, Lú, An Cabhán, Muineachán
  4. Dublin – Baile Átha Cliath
  5. South Leinster & Midlands – Deisceart Laighean agus Lár na Tíre – Cill Mhantáin, Loch Garman, Ceatharlach, Cill Chainnigh, Laois, Uíbh Fhailí, Cill Dara
  6. Munster – An Mhumhain – Corcaigh, Ciarraí, An Clár, Tiobraid Árann, Port Láirge, Luimneach
