Sinn Féin vigil in support of Debenhams workers

Sinn Féin organised a vigil in support of the Debenhams Workers this week at the loading bay to the Parnell Street store where workers are engaged in an ongoing picked to force the company to honour its pay agreements.

Speaking after attending the vigil Mary Lou McDonald said;

“Debenhams must honour their previous pay agreements in terms of redundancy for these workers.

“It is outrageous that the company have used these ‘tactical liquidations’ to walk away from all of their responsibilities to their staff.

“It cannot be allowed to happen again and Sinn Féin have brought forward legislation to prevent it, and it is absolutely vital the government support the Bill.”

D’eagraigh Sinn Féin bigil chun tacú le hoibrithe Debenhams ag  bá lódála Shráid Pharnell mar a bhfuil oibrithe i mbun picéid reatha chun iachall a chur ar an chomhlacht a gcuid comhaontaithe pá a chomhlíonadh.

Ag labhairt di nuair a bhí sí ag an mbigil dúirt Mary Lou McDonald:

“Ní mór do Debenhams comhaontaithe pá roimhe seo a chomhlíonadh maidir le hiomarcaíocht do na hoibrithe seo.

“Tá sé scannalach go bhfuil na leachtaithe beartacha chun a gcuid freagrachtaí i leith a gcuid oibrithe a shárú.

“Níor chóir go dtarlóidh sé arís agus tá reachtaíocht réitithe ag Sinn Féin chun cosc a chur ar a leithéid, mar sin tá sé ríthábhachtach go dtacaíonn an Rialtas leis an bhille seo.

Sinn Féin International Bulletin – July 2020

Find linked below a bulletin covering some of the International reaction to plans by the Israeli government to annex large parts of Palestinian land in clear violation of international and humanitarian law.

Feasachán Idirnáisiúnta Shinn Féin – Lúil 202

Faightear thíos feasachán a chuireann síos ar chuid den fhreagairt idirnáisiúnta ar a bhfuil beartaithe ag Iosrael coda móra de chríocha na Palaistíne a bhánú, rud a dhéanann sárú glan ar an dlí daonna agus idirnáisiúnta.

Is léir go dteastaíonn ón phobal idirnáisiúnta níos mó ná briathra loma cáinte ar bheartais agus gníomhaíochtaí Iosrael.
