Sinn Féin will soon launch A Decade of Opportunity -Towards The New Republic – it’s a new page on our website dedicated to Irish Unity.

Today we are sharing the page, which you can find at www.sinnfein.ie/irish-unity with Sinn Féin members. 

The Irish Unity section of the website has been designed as a resource for activists.  

It contains Sinn Féin documents on Unity and a library of external material on the topic.  We hope to develop and add to the page as time goes on.

Niall Ó Donnghaile calls for Dáil speaking rights for Northern MPs

£33m package to help arts and culture tackle Covid19

Minister for Communities in the North Carál Ní Chuilín has announced a £33m package to help arts and culture tackle Covid19. 

We all love our musicians, artists, actors and theatres and the role they play in lifting our spirits, particularly during hard times.  They contribute so much to our society and Sinn Féin will continue to support them.

Sinn Féin publish bill to ensure fair treatment of Debenhams workers

Sinn Féin Enterprise, Trade and Employment spokesperson Louise O’Reilly TD has this week published the Protection of Employees (Collective Redundancies) Bill 2020; to protect workers and stop tactical redundancies, in light of the unfair treatment of Debenhams workers.

Mary Lou McDonald addressed this issue in the Dáil this week when she said;

“Five years on from the Clery's scandal and Fianna Fáil are still talking about ‘reviewing legislation’ to stop liquidations like we have just seen in Debenhams.  If they won't act to stop these type of tactical liquidations that strip workers of their entitlements then Sinn Féin will. We will be publishing legislation on this today.”

Maternity leave for women who gave birth during Covid-19 lockdown must be extended

Mary Lou McDonald this week raised with the Taoiseach the need for women who gave birth during COVID-19 to get a three month extension to maternity leave and pay. She said the promises made on this issue must be delivered.
