Annual Wolfe Tone Commemoration goes online
Normally in June we gather at the grave of Wolfe Tone in Bodenstown, Co. Kildare for the annual Wolfe Tone Commemoration.
Due to the ongoing public health emergency, this year's commemoration will take place online on Sunday 21 June at 8pm with words, music and an address from Mary Lou McDonald TD.
This event will be live streamed on the Sinn Féin Ireland Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and via the Sinn Féin website atwww.sinnfein.ie

Change cannot be stopped
Following the announcement this that a Programme for Government has been agreed by the leaders of Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and the Green Party Sinn Féin President Mary Lou McDonald TD said this does not represent the change that people voted for in the general election in February.
Mary Lou was joined by Pearse Doherty TD and Eoin Ó Broin TD for an online meeting on Monday evening where they took questions from the public on how change cannot be stopped.

Michelle O’Neill welcomes school re-opening announcement
Speaking on BBC The View this week Michelle O’Neill has welcomed the announcement that schools in the North will reopen in August with a one metre social distancing rule implemented.
She said the safety of parents and children is paramount and the plan can only succeed if the conversation includes parents, teachers and trade unions.

Legislation published to prevent Covid-19 mortgage interest rip-off
Pearse Doherty TD has published legislation this week which will end the mortgage interest rip off and protect homeowners who applied for the mortgage payment break during the Covid19 pandemic.

Free school meals funding must continue over Summer months
Sinn Féin MLA Karen Mullan has said free school meals are a lifeline for many children and families and the Education Minister must extend the payment over the summer months to the 97,000 children who receive them.

Fianna Fáil can’t tell us what an affordable home is and they are not planning on building any extra social homes – Pearse Doherty
Speaking on the Tonight Show on Virgin Media One on Monday evening Sinn Féin’s Pearse Doherty exposed the fact that the programme for government agreed by Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil and the Green Party, does not include any additional social and affordable housing above what was already committed and that Fianna Fáil spokesperson Thomas Byrne could not even say what he thought was an affordable price for a home.
He said Sinn Féin had been very clear that we need 100,000 social an affordable homes.

Speaking on the same show Pearse also pointed out that the programme for government published prioritises tax cuts for the wealthy at a cost of €600 million at a time when we are in economic crisis and that money could be spent on housing, health, childcare and rural Ireland.

Housing crisis set to continue under Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil and Green Party says Eoin Ó Broin

Michelle O’Neill confirms further relaxation of restriction in the North
