Gerry Adams’ convictions quashed

Convictions against Gerry Adams for attempting to escape from Long Kesh Internment Camp in the 1970s.

The British Supreme Court this week ruled that Gerry was unlawfully detained by the British State and, as a consequence, his convictions for attempting to escape have been quashed.

Speaking afterwards Gerry said he was not interested in an apology but wanted a date set for a referendum on Irish Unity so that we can end Britain’s involvement in Irish affairs once and for all.

Cothrom an lae ó scaoileadh Séamas Ó Conghaile agus Sean Mac Diarmada

Ar an 12 de mhí na Bealtaine 1916, cuireadh chun báis an poblachtach sóisialach agus an ceannaire ceardchumainn Séamas Ó Conghaile in éineacht le Seán Mac Diarmada.
