SF meets Prisons Minister
A Sinn Fein delegation led by Dodie McGuinness met NIO security minister Adam Ingram on Thursday 23 October specifically to talk about prison related issues.
Sinn Fein prison spokesperson Michael Browne said before the meeting, ``the current peace process can be consolidated and advanced by movement towards the release of political prisoners.'' He called on the British government to ``demonstrate good faith.''
McGuinness described the meeting as ``frank and useful'' despite the fact that Ingram wouldn't comment on early releases. Sinn Fein will get a formal written response and more meetings are in the pipeline.
